TF2 Class Tier List 2026: What Actually Wins Matches

S-tier in Team Fortress 2 is not the class that looks strongest in a highlight reel. It is the class that wins the fights you actually take on 2Fort, Dustbowl, and Upward.

How this list is scored

S-tier means the best expected value across a hundred pub fights — not the class that looks strongest in a controlled idle server. Class roles still follow the Official Team Fortress Wiki. Mid-range control wins many of the fights that actually decide last points.

Use this as a default, then swap for the map. Sniper is stronger on 2Fort battlements than in a chaotic Badwater choke. Demo is stronger on Dustbowl last than on open koth.

A simple pub spine

A durable pub kit is usually a reliable Soldier or Demo, a close-range option like Scout or Pyro, and a Sniper if the map has long sightlines. In payload, that same spine supports the last-point patterns in our payload last-point guide.

If you also use information tools, pair class choice with TF2 ESP so you are not picking Sniper into a lobby full of Spies you cannot see.

When to ignore the list

Ignore the list when your team already has three Snipers. Ignore it when you are practicing one class. Ignore it when the other team is rolling a stacked combo and you need a dedicated Pyro or Heavy instead.

Decide the map first. Then pick the class. Then tune aim and ESP settings on Features if you run TF2 Cheats.
